From the age of 13, I started to question if there even was a god when I tried praying to jehovah for something simple like a phone or even a decent day when I knew that there was no chance of that happening at the time. Soon after these prayers had gone unanswered, I decided to figure out for myself whether or not there actually was a god & unfortunately, there turned out to be no such thing as a god. Unfortunately, I was starting to realise this when I was about to be baptised in a Catholic family, at the age of 13. I decided that I did not want to waste time on some false god that isn't even real but regrettably, I was heavily cornerced into being baptised by the woman I stopped calling my mother about a year ago, María. María had threatened to beat me to a pulp & to abandon me for me wanting to become atheist after looking into this & finding that there is no such thing as a god. A year later, I would destroy my baptism documents by throwing them in the bin when nobody was looking & then forgetting about that for years officially nullifying the baptism & solidifying my position as an atheist even if I had to keep it a secret until I turned 18. Now that I am open about my stance on religion & the fact that I am an atheist through thick & thin, I feel that this just about sums up how I became atheist.
