rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness... give me truth I was raised in a catholic family and sent to catholic pre-school, grade school, middle school and high school. I spent my entire life learning about but at the same time doubting religion. Even at an early age I knew it was not for me. The more educated I became through 4 years of college, 4 years of professional development in the Air Force, and countless conversations on philosophical discussions; I finally realized I truly was an atheist. religion has never been important to me, but I soon found that it was to so many others. Just as conflicting taste in music can make a car ride unpleasant, conflicting beliefs or lack there of make relationships impossible. Just as believers call us infidels, we call them delusional. How could someone in the right mind spend the rest of their life with someone who they know to be irrational? Some see this difference as minuscule or insignificant, but I hardly see the theories on the origins of life, moral baselines, or daily practices as something to ignore. Religion will impact you whether you believe in a supreme being or not. I seek only to find like-minded individuals who do not accept everything for face value and understand that just because we may not be able to comprehend something yet, doesn't mean "god" has a hand in it. To discuss our alternate theories is to strengthen our resolve. By doing so, you may put facts behind your hunches and reasons behind your feelings. I am a well-educated, responsible, young professional hoping to find others who seek to find wisdom and strength in themselves, not from a church. Just as any girl will say it's hard to find a good guy, I contend that it has been difficult and nearly impossible to find a girl who dares to think outside the box and isn't afraid to exercise her intellect. Unlike most other guys, I want to find a girl who is smarter, more educated, more driven and can hold a conversation. I am just beginning to think they don't exist...
