Sick of religious oppression in the southeastern US Hi. I have been an atheist and lived in the south all my life. As such, I've had religion shoved in my face ever since I was a kid. I used to tolerate religion, but I have grown to hate it -- not just Christianity, but all religions. When I tolerated religion, Christians would use that tolerance against me. Combine my childhood religious trauma with recent events, like 9/11, and I have learned to hate religion.

It's not just public events that have given me such a poor opinion about religion. Personally, I have been on several dates that, because of religious differences between us, have been doomed for failure from the beginning. I used to tolerate her religion, whatever it was, but I have found zero Christian women that have given me the same respect (I have never dated anyone of another religion). Thus, I have learned to distrust, even despise, anyone that clings onto any ancient belief that some god is going to punish me because I refuse to follow their religion even though the proof of its existence is shaky, at best.

As a result, I have not dated for many years. Every time I get close, Jesus screws it up! I'm sick of a 2000 year dead Jew son-of-a-rat-with-wings (or so the Holy Bible says) screwing up my dates! Thus, I come to this website to try to find someone anywhere on planet Earth that isn't afraid of a flying spaghetti minster, or God, or Allah, or L. Ron Hubbard, or Buddha, or Zeus, or any other B.S. a zealot who wishes to oppress people by the masses can think of.

So if you are beautiful woman that's intelligent, kind, trustworthy, and an atheist, and are looking for the same in a potential soulmate, please respond. I admit that I am shy, at first, but after we get to know one another, I will loose that shyness and become quite extroverted. Friendships are always welcome, too, but my mission on this website is to find an atheist girlfriend. I am not a player; I prefer monogamy, but until that happens, I'm open for anything.
