An Atheist in Texas I am a 34 year old single white atheist male, seeking a single white or Asian atheist female for friendship and possibly dating. I am an avid reader and film fanatic. My musical tastes are somewhat out of the norm as are my political and fashion tastes. I have no children and plan to keep it that way. I'm not really "daddy" material. I'm great "uncle" material, though, and enjoy spending time and playing with my niece and nephew. Since moving back to Houston, I have not found a single, solitary woman who peaked my interest. Aside from the fact that almost all the women I've met are Christian, I haven't been able to find anyone with whom I made an intellectual connection. I tend to be serious and my sense of humor is so black even some of my friends can't tell when I'm joking. My demeanor has been compared to Hawkeye Pierce from M*A*S*H. I am a big guy as you can see from the stats, but I prefer smaller women (height, weight, the works). At this point in my life, I only date women who are white or Asian as I have had many worse experiences with Hispanic and black women. One of my female "just-friends" (my phrase) calls me a "big, gruff teddy bear" (whatever that's supposed to mean). I am of reasonably high intelligence and get bored easily, so I am constantly reading, watching, or playing something. I don't go out much anymore, preferring a nice quiet evening at home or with friends than going out to a bar or club where I'm pummelled by bad music and annoying people; although I do still occasionally hit up a small bar from time to time. I would like to meet someone who is also of reasonably high intelligence between the ages of 24-32, preferably without children who has somewhat similar interests and views. Your tastes in music, fashion, politics, etc. are not as important as your taste in films (joking, kind of). I just can't watch another horrendously bad movie just to appease a date.
