No sugar plum fairy and it's OK! Thanks for taking a look at this. I'm a college art and photography instructor, now retired. I taught in the twin cities for a lot of years and loved it, but now I enjoy being able to to anything I want with my time. BUT! Someone to do it with is desired! So many things we do in life seem vastly BETTER with a companion, don't you think? I'm specifically looking for a person with a similar world view, which in my case means atheist/agnostic. I'm looking for a travel partner, movie partner, activity partner and even a do-nothing partner. As John Lennon said, much of life is what happens when we're sitting around making other plans. I appreciate those who find a way to have fun performing the simple activities of daily life.


I love taking a spontaneous unplanned day trip to explore out-of-the way places that tourists would never care about. I enjoy discovering little-traveled back roads connecting sleepy small towns, and maybe stopping at a funky hole-in-the-wall eatery that serves breakfast all day. On the way home I'd love to discover an old truck rusting into the ground in some field so I could get out and shoot a few pictures of it.

I'm open to anything from coffee to a dinner out, a day trip or an e-mail exchange, on the way towards hopefully finding that elusive lasting bond that most of us would love to have.

I've lived in three foreign countries and been a tourist in others. International travel can be such a thrill; I'd love to keep it up as much as my budget will allow. But again, how great to share it WITH somebody!

I love exploring back roads, junk stores, antique shops and flea markets, but you'll not find me shopping at the mall for today's fashions. I'm not a very normal old babe of my age: I'm a nonconformist with an irreverent, ironic sense of humor. I'm nonmaterialistic. I don't care a bit how nice a guy's car, house or boat is, holy crap, how shallow, and what does it have to do with the actual person?
