I believe as a Marxist/maoist, that all organised religions have developed as a means of asserting control over the mordern working class and their predeccessors right back to the inception of class division within human society. Having said this I believe that Pure religion/spirituality is about striving to find our purpose and place in nature. that purpose i feel, is to build a world where we -like our ancestors become like a clan, an interacial clan based on class not blood-as was the case with them. Hence the socialist aversion to nationalism, and so called patriotism.
