And then there were two.. My paradigm shift came at age 12. Now I appreciate balance. Not because of a lack but rather for the spiritual reinforcement existing between like-minded secular individuals.
I also appreciate others who take good care of their bodes and minds. That means proper nutrition and exercise, fit and trim, and some well deserved R&R like beaches and blues concerts.
Passions: I love loyalty and honesty. And yes, deception by omission is as vile as any other lie. I love it when people do what they say and say what they mean. I love genuine.
Likes: Ethnic foods and homemade desserts, yet I like to look good and feel well, so -- balance.
Some other passions are reading, writing and viewing intense movies. I admire American legends such as Hemingway and Steinbeck and timeless contemporary authors include Steven King and James Frey for character development and Lee Child's Jack Reacher series for action. For non-fiction literature I admire the Four Horsemen (Hitchens, Harris, Dawkins, Dennett).
Some of my favorite directors include Houston; Nichols; Tarantino; Coppola; Scorsese; Bakshi. Plus I enjoy Disney and Pixar.
Turn-offs: I stay far away from political and religious fanatics and other extremists of any variety. Same for nosy people who talk s---, spread rumors and cause trouble. I also dislike deliberate cruelty as much as I'm turned off by overly sensitive types offended by cursing and nearly everything else. I avoid crusaders who need to climb in the business of their neighbors so they can destroy the lives of others.
I hate liars and phonies as much as two-faced back-stabbers. I dislike personal weaknesses, especially when they are used as excuses for poor behaviors. I have no tolerance for addicts.
I understand that I have high expectations. That's because I freely give a lot to those who earn it.
