I am a father, musician, & secular humanist. i would love to find someone with the same passion i have for music. i've been playing drums and guitar for over 20 years; though my abilities may not reflect that =)

Raised in a Methodist home, forced to attend church weekly, I began to question the validity of religion as a whole at a young age - around 8 or so. However, like many people, I struggled with this for several years, mostly wondering "what if i'm wrong," because i was taught religion as fact, not as a man-made idea. It took until i was 16 or so to be comfortable with openly declaring my rejection of religious beliefs, & then went on to read, research, learn, & write about the harms religion has inflicted on society.

i have a 5 year old daughter who means the world to me; though an unfortunate custody battle is ongoing, i at least am allowed overnight visitations with her weekly & hope to eventually obtain primary custody.

laughter is definitely an important part of life. if one can't have a sense of humor about things, or takes everything way too seriously, it would seem to me that that person will almost definitely have a lesser quality of life than someone who laughs every day. Granted, sadness, misery, negativity are things that we all encounter as people, but we must meet these things with an open attitude and try to make the best of any situation; something which is nearly always easier said than done.

it is an appealing, if not rather obvious, ideal that in order to have a successful relationship, a friendship must be at the base of that relationship. if it's just based on sex, physical attraction, ----, or simply loneliness, it will almost definitely end in someone getting hurt emotionally, or worse.

i'm one of the few guys (or so it seems) who would prefer a long-term relationship, as opposed to dating as many girls as possible, etc..

In every sense of the word i am a pacifist. I've never been in a fight, never thrown a punch. the thought of hitting a woman is despicab
