I'm technically agnostic, but I lean towards atheism. I can think of a lot of reasons that people would want to believe in a religion, so I'm skeptical of it. One big reason is the fear of death. A lot of religions have an afterlife , and if people believe it to be true then dying doesn't seem that bad. Religions can also act as a moral guide and give people hope. As well as create a sense of community. Another reason I'm skeptical is because there are so many religions and what people believe in is usually the majority religion in there country. I live in a majority Christian area, and it's more religious than the rest of my country. People will ask me why I don't believe in god, but that question doesn't make sense in my world view. It would make more since to ask if I'm religious, because there isn't just the Christian god. I've thought about trying to believe, but I've been exposed to so many religions it would feel like picking one at random. I also have a strong moral code that doesn't align with any religion. The main reason I thought about choosing to believe was for a sense of community, but I would be lying to myself if I said I truly believed. The only reason I say I'm agnostic is because I can't disprove any religion, but for the reasons above I think it's unlikely any of them is right.
