I share Sam Harris' idea of spirituality and Christopher Hitchens' revulsion of religious ideas and practices. I was raised as a rolling on the floor, speaking in tongues, god fearing boy and quickly abandoned the ideas of my childhood as soon as I left home (not as any sort of rebellious act, but because I was no longer being inundated with religious nonsense and finally had the opportunity to think for myself). Since then I've enjoyed a stronger connection with life and an appreciation for the moment. There is nothing bleak about atheism, I can tell you that!
