Raving Atheist
Raving Atheist I am a neuroscientist in training. I am married with 2 children. I came to my senses about religion last year. I came to my senses sometime last year. I had finished reading Dawkins' "The God Delusion" about 2 years ago, when this began. In a nutshell, I am alienated in my family for the most part, as I have only come out to my wife and my sister. And this is where I am.

I would like to find people who have had to confront issues such as how to negotiate raising children to be free thinkers in a household where one's spouse is a believer; how to deal with my wife's belief system, while offending her less; how to come out to my extended family. My wife's family actively practices Christianity, whereas mine is more of the cafeteria Catholic variety.
