I decided to join this site because my atheism is a big turn-off for most of the women that I meet. I am intelligent, thoughtful, a good listener, good-looking, tall and well-built, honest to a fault . . . all qualities that woman appreciate. Yet the fact that I do not believe in a deity is apparently a deal-breaker.
More about me: I have a degree in science and am currently pursuing another degree, this one in law. I have a dry wit and a self-deprecating sense of humor . . . I may look serious but definitely have a goofy side.
What I'm looking for: I think that all anyone really wants is someone who understands them and accepts them as they are. I've dated theists and it's a lonely experience, dating someone whose views of life, the world and the universe are fundamentally incompatible with yours. I've no desire to do battle anymore. All we have to give meaning to our lives are the people that we love and who love us. We need each other, not a god that doesn't exist. If you feel the same way, then we are most likely emotionally compatible. I'd love to meet a single, attractive, intelligent, atheist or skeptical woman. Race is not important to me at all, but physical attractiveness is. I will not lie. I have plenty of male atheist friends who I get along with phenomenally well. But I do not date them because I do not find them attractive. LOL. So, let's be honest - this is a dating site and we all want both the emotional and physical chemistry.
