Single, never married. I have a grown son who lives on his own.
Consider myself a studen on hiatus--Environmental Science bachelors in the works. Will go back when I can afford it.
My work is somewhat satisfying, though doesn't pay very well. Still I manage to pay the bills and do rent a cute place in the country. I have a fenced in yard, and a raised gardenbed.
I love spending time outdoors. I live close to a river, so fishing is something I plan to do a lot of this year. I also do a lot of hiking with my pup.
I'm working on re-acquiring the level of fitness I enjoyed when I moved here.
I suppose it's a good thing I don't have an internet connection at home; instead I have a gorgeous hill, that holds all sorts of wildlife. Sadly it's also the reason I can't have chickens and goats. But I do have a sweet hyper pup called Nebulous. She takes me to all the interesting spots during our weekend hikes. By nature I'm a huge computer gamer, and if I had internet I might not get out as much.
Shy doesn't accurately describe me, I'm just reluctant to do a lot of social things. I don't care for clubs, I've never learned to dance, and don't like to be surrounded by huge crowds inside. I do like cultural festivals, science lectures, and small friendly gatherings.
I am environmentally conscious, but I'm also a bit of a hypocrit. I'm working on being less so, one step at a time.
I like all sorts of listening, reading, and viewing material. My favorites are 70's soft rock, Celtic folk and rock, science, and sci-fi/fantasy.
I'm at the point in my life that I don't make changes in who I am to accomodate others. I am content with who I am, but am always working to make a better me for myself. I have strong and passionate views about the world, and won't go into them now, but they will come out with people I meet. I don't vote along party lines, but rather on issues.
