Rocketshoes, 41

I prefer pancakes to waffles, trains to planes, Ginsberg to Yeats and movement to stagnation. I do my crosswords in pen, my shoes are consistently full of holes and my favourite fruit is kiwi. I listen to standup on the bus, so I can laugh real loud and elicit as many dirty looks as possible. I am a hopeless romantic, but an incurable misanthrope and I may very well be sleeping on your couch.

The only things I really like - or for that matter, have any interest in - are reading, writing, going places and playing aces.. and I do. I just got back from four years in China, splitting my time between teaching and travel. Next stop is South America, unless I end up back in Asia first. The only real ambition I have in life is to be somewhere else.

I'm into all art forms, with a particular appreciation for writers, filmmakers and musicians. The only caveat is that it has to be good. I like something that grabs you by the shorthairs and refuses to let go. Think Bukowski, Wong Kar Wai and Tom Waits, yknaw?
