First, I am relationship-ready. I do want a family within the next few years (maybe 2 kids, a couple dogs); however, I'd rather have kids alone than with the wrong person, so don't worry about me "trapping" you. Just don't bother reaching out if you KNOW kids are 10 years off for you!

I believe in green values, progressive politics, and always striving to learn and improve. The Golden Rule is a pretty good way to live, so we should care about others and generally be nice--without letting people take advantage!

I enjoy a few smart tv shows: comedies, sci fi, drama/crime/mystery (Doctor Who, SVU, Castle, Daily Show, Modern Family). Can't stand most "reality" tv.

I play volleyball and tennis, do yoga, and hike regularly when it's nice out. Just started casual running again.

I like dancing, camping, rafting, and road tripping, plus serious travel--especially if scuba is involved! I'd love to spend a week in Hawaii learning to surf.

I really enjoy flavors and like to cook, taste wine or beer, and do pairings. I like going out some, but can really be down for some good pizza and a bottle of red with a movie at home on a Friday night. Or, getting together with friends for a comedy show, movie night, BBQ, game night, or just socializing.

I would appreciate a mate who:

-Takes care of his health
-Is looking for a partner, in a relationship where we both are made better/stronger
-Is relatively clean/neat, no drugs or smoking
-Is politically progressive
-Can be smart and sarcastic (Family Guy?)
-Is confident, despite his imperfections
-Understands that playfulness and a little romance are important--especially to smooth things over when disagreements occur
-Enjoys nights in, relaxing, snuggling up for a movie, but is down for some whitewater, mud vball, or crawling through Cave of the Winds
-Likes beaches, not just mountains
-Loves smart women who both challenge and support him
