I am a medical doctor on the verge of retiring from practice. My native tongue is Spanish, but I like English more.
I was born a Catholic; then, as faith failed to offer direct answers to my direct questions, I resorted to several Protestant churches and even sects. I even read some sacred texts of other religions (by the way, I like them.) As inconsistencies in the God idea added up both in size and number, I finally decided that God had passed away; I was just having a hard time to accept it. Maybe that is why, even today, I both respect and feel deep sympathy for the believers. Because I was one.
So, you see, I am very fond of religion and mythology as important aspects of the history of mankind. My most intense passions, though, are astronomy, biology, science fiction, psychology, swimming, and outdoor activities. I am also a writer, mainly of science fiction, although not yet published. I am currently working on a historical novel, which I intend to publish in the United States.
I would love to have at my side (not above me, not below me) a free thinking woman in love with life as I am, who could be willing to proofread my manuscripts (it doesn't matter if she is not into science fiction.) More than having the same interests that I have, I would like her to be willing to connect with me with an open mind and an open heart (I am referring to the emotional part of the human intelligence here, not the blood-pumping muscle--of course.) In fact, it would be great if she were an inspiring source of fresh approaches to old topics.
I am also open to friendship, especially if that includes an interchange of ideas and life perspectives.
