I was raised in a family where spirited debate and free thinking was the norm. It took me awhile to discover the real world doesn't quite work like that.
I've often felt a bit like an outsider looking in when it comes to religion, astrology, tarot and all things supernatural. it's possibly the reason I'm fascinated by religion, culture, people, and the way our brain works.
I've joined this site because I'm over hiding my thoughts and biting my tongue for fear of losing friends or my job. i've also had enough of proving that being godless doesn't mean lacking integrity, compassion or a sense of purpose in life.
I'm the kind of person you can't fit in a box. I have a good sense of humour... I take life seriously and i don't take myself seriously. I love people and socialising and cherish the quiet moments also. I love nothing more than great debate over a bottle of wine (am also a pretty good cook!) and although I work in the world of academia I find it a bit dull to be around.
i'm curious about life, so I can't really put my interests in a nutshell because they seem to evolve over time. Although I'm not the sporty type, I'm quite religious about my gym classes (excuse the pun), and leading a healthy life - within reason.
I have a background in music so it's a big part of my life. My musical tastes are quite eclectic - classical, prog rock, jazz etc. I love latin music for dancing. I also love to travel places where I can experience other cultures.
Just like you, there's a whole lot more to me than this profile. If you feel some connection point I'd love to hear from you. Although I'm looking for a long term meaningful relationship, I'm also open to friendship and healthy discussion...regardless of what part of the world you live in.
