I am a highly educated progressive veteran working in the mental health field. I have 2 jobs: one in a community support program/targeted case management agency that helps people remain in the community with help from me. I help people work on their goals, such as going back to work, getting an education, etc. My other job is in a mental hospital where we help people reconnect to reality. My goal is for the people I assist to achieve recovery, the best quality of life that they are seeking.

I have been part of progressive causes since I was a teenager. I am one of those NPR listening people who drives right wing talk show hosts crazy. My ideas are many and I write a blog, follow intelligent conversation on Facebook and twitter and remain well informed.

I am a veteran of the coffee house scene, volunteering with community organizations and veterans causes. I am looking for a woman who is equally progressive, and matches my personality which is somewhat introspective. We might enjoy live music together but definitely not R. Kelly. More likely it would be jazz in a club. I also enjoy the various festivals around town. Someone who backs up her causes with her money would be good. That is, buying from progressive stores. A woman who has her own ideas is welcome.

Note that I am average size and height so if you describe yourself as pear shaped, I'm not for you. Although finding a woman in the Midwest would be ideal, I have dated women from other states whose interests matched my own. I have a quirky sense of humor and I have been in the helping professions most of my life.
