My favorite activities involve listening to good music, reading everything I can get my hands on, watching films, investigating the natural and social sciences, annoying my family and playing with my nephews...

The most difficult part of my life has been coming out of the closet as an Atheist the my very religious family. For over a year I stayed in the closet hiding my religious opinions an going to church nearly every week; it was a Roman Catholic church. Over time I worked up my strength and the day finally came when I came out to my parents. Now, I do not wish to compare my experience to the experience of homosexuals coming out of the closet, but many of us Atheists around this country do have much difficulty "coming out" of the proverbial closet...

Religion, to me, is essentially a dogmatic system (I'm not nearly as familiar with the Asian faiths as I am the monotheistic faiths, but I speak pretty confidently in this area.) originally set up as a way to explain the natural world. Religion was replaced by philosophy and philosophy, as it was originally conducted, has largely been replaced by science; the greatest method of investigating the natural world ever invented. No, I do not worship science, but I appreciate deeply it's ability to explain.

To put it simply I'm looking for a smart talented woman who thinks of herselfs positively.
