I have two grown sons, one daughter-in-law and one grandson in my family.
I believe in living simply and in accumulating experiences rather than possessions.
My politics: by US standards they are radical. I am against corporate power, in favor of publicly funded health care like they have in the rest of the sane world, in keeping public assets public, and in putting the common good above individual benefit.
If our government isn't working it's our own fault and we are getting what we deserve.
One son and his family live in South America so my travel budget right now gets eaten up visiting my grandson.

I sometimes go to peace protests or advocate for various things I believe in. But I am not a zealot and react poorly to the overly zealous. Much of the evil in the world is beyond our control. The best we can do is say what we think honestly, speak the truth and hope someone is listening. Beating someone relentlessly with our messages never changes anyone's mind.
So I'm looking for someone who doesn't take herself too seriously, knows that life is short, and improbable to start with, so we should enjoy what we can.
