The church loses about 1.3% of members every year. Nobody knows why but the sum total of losses to the church now have the church in America down to roghly 28% of the population. This means that religion is dying off in America. The 28% that are still religious are a dying and shrinking minority of the people in America.

Most ex christians are agnostic because the lack of evidence for a god is its most outstanding attribute. After trying religion ex religious people are agnostic about all gods and not just their particular relgions gods so most ex christians are agnostics and not atheists.

It is easy to turn an anostic atheist but over 70% of all ex christians are just agnostic and not atheists. Atheists have to do a better job of handling their reputation among all the agnostics out there. But the era of having to deal with massive numbers of chritians is over and we are now all agnostic and atheist.
