Hi Everyone! I am new to this chat room, actually chat rooms in general. I am a Christian believer but am having some questions regarding atheism. I just feel confused. Can someone please help?
1. What is really real to you?
2. What is the nature of the world around us?
3. What is a human being?
4. What happens to a person at death?
5. Why is it possible to know anything at all?
6. How do we know what is right and wrong?
7. What is the meaning of human history?

`1. What is really real to you?- Everything I can see and/or explain with proper logic.
2. What is the nature of the world around us?- It's a screwed up place.
3. What is a human being?- A human being is a homosapian.
4. What happens to a person at death?- Nothing they are dead, most often they are buried or cremated.
5. Why is it possible to know anything at all?- Because we have an advanced brain with problem solving and logic skills.
6. How do we know what is right and wrong?- Interesting question, we know this because most humans (as well as other animals) have compassion and emotions, most things that feel wrong are.
7. What is the meaning of human history?- There is no one meaning to the broad spectrum of all history.

`I'm happy to add my input to this! I hope to allay your confusion, but honestly I can only tell you how I feel. So here goes!

1. What is really real to you? Reality is hard to define, and is always filtered through personal perception. My five senses are usually fairly reliable in defining what is real. Combine that with logical thinking, and you've got my reality.

2. What is the nature of the world around us? Hmm, another toughie! I'm not exactly sure how to go about answering it. We live on a rock floating in space. To me, it really is as simple as that. The earth is not an inexhaustible well from which we can take all we need and expect it to give us more. It's a living organism and we are the bacterium that inhabit it.

3. What is a human being? A human being is an evolved organism.

4. What happens to a person at death? Their body returns into the timeless cycle of life, the universe, and everything. Without proof of a soul, I can't say anything more than that. The atoms that make up the body return to the cycle. To me, there's an infinite amount of beauty in that.

5. Why is it possible to know anything at all? Because our brains are constantly sending electrical signals.

6. How do we know what is right and wrong? I know what is right and wrong for me, but there is no absolute right and wrong. My personal idea of morality is based purely in empathy. Because I would not like to have something stolen from me, I do not steal. Because getting punched HURTS, I don't punch people.

7. What is the meaning of human history? There isn't a meaning of human history. The human race is beyond insignificant in the entire scheme/cycle of things. The only reason it needs meaning is because humans seek meaning in everything.

Everything existed, nothing was created just discovered. Matter is our nature, the rest is just a creation of the human mind!!!

It is called memory, and intelligence is just the act of processing all this information (memories)

There is something called ethics instead of religious morality... treat people the way you would like to be treated

Those who doesn't know history are comdemned to repeat it! Tell that to Hitler invading Russia or the next country invading Vietnam!!
